Outlook

OUTLOOK's theme for this year has been Strengthening our Spirituality and this month we are focusing on how that is done through Adventist Education. Teaching is a tough career, made harder by COVID-19, and we need to intentionally express more appreciation and encouragement to all our teachers–both those who are retiring and those who are willing to continue or begin their ministry as first-year teachers.

Maplewood Academy Capital Campaign

For Maplewood Academy to continue to fulfill its God-given mission to work towards the education and salvation of the young people entrusted to us, a new cafeteria building is vital. The need for these funds is urgent. For construction to begin this summer, the funds must be raised this spring for 70% of the building cost. Please prayerfully consider how you might be able to contribute to this exciting project that will support the entire Minnesota Conference, as Maplewood is the location for conference events such as camp meetings, music fest, and various Pathfinder events. Thank you in advance for your support for the young people of Minnesota and the surrounding areas.

BEFORE YOU SELL YOUR FARMLAND, CONSIDER A CHARITABLE GIFT PLAN!

Do you have farmland, vacant lots, or other property in addition to your home that you’ve owned for years but produces little or no income, and you’ve been thinking about selling it? If so, we may be able to help you save a lot of money. If you sell the property yourself, it’s likely that you will have a very large Capital Gains tax bill if your property has increased greatly in value. But by using a gift plan such as a Charitable Remainder Unitrust, you might not only save a significant amount of money in unnecessary taxes, but also receive annual income payments for life. If you’re considering selling property that has appreciated significantly, please contact the Gift Planning & Trust Services Department and let us show you how you can not only provide for God’s work, but also realize great benefits like tax savings and annual income at the same time. (763) 424-8923, or email msims@mnsda.com.
